Daegu Metropolitan City SME Company Item Recruitment Announcement
To enhance the competitiveness of Daegu SMEs, we invite submissions of item themes that companies need,
screen and select innovative idea works through the competition, and support design consulting so that companies can make practical use of the ideas and bring them to mass production.
Accordingly, through the “Daegu International Design Award” competition, we are recruiting items from companies that wish to connect innovative idea works to mass production, so we invite your active participation.
Recruitment Guide
Project Purpose
- Strengthening the design capabilities of Daegu SMEs → providing innovative ideas to small, medium, and mid-sized enterprises and startups that have design development needs
- Enhancing the effectiveness of award-winning works → maximizing the utilization and commercialization rate of entries by linking items that companies need to the competition themes
- Creating business through the award → enhancing regional industrial competitiveness through the matching of ‘item proposal (company) — creation (designer) — advancement (professional company)’

Application Eligibility
- Companies with a place of business located in Daegu Metropolitan City
- Mid-sized enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises
- Small and medium-sized enterprises must qualify as SMEs under the provisions of Article 2 of the Framework Act on Small and Medium Enterprises
Application Fields (Designs that the company wishes to develop)
- Supported fields: electrical and electronics, living, health, medical, robotics, mobility, furniture, home appliances, industrial machinery and tools, living and public safety, public street facilities, industrial crafts, food, and all other fields
- Support content: product / branding, packaging, character / multimedia UX, UI / public and environmental design / advertising / service design, and all other fields

- Application period: 2026. 4. 1. ~ 2026. 5. 25. until 18:00
- Application method: Apply through the Company Item Application menu on the official Daegu International Design Award website (www.dida.biz)
- Attachment: CompanyName.ZIP (compressed into a single folder)

- Evaluation committee: approximately 5 experts in related fields (design, marketing, promotion, etc.)

Support Content (Company Benefits)
- Use of creative, outstanding designs — priority negotiation rights over designs allowing the company to use outstanding works discovered through the competition
- Maximizing company brand promotion effects — exposure of the company name and logo on the competition website and in various promotional materials
- Enhancing social recognition as a company that contributes to the development of young designers and university (graduate) students
- The ability to secure outstanding core talent who understand the company items
- Mass production consulting support — professional design companies are matched to provide design consulting so that award-winning works can be mass produced
Precautions (Company Role)
- Applicant companies must submit the application form (item description materials) and other related documents necessary for design development. (If there is high application demand, a company may not be selected following evaluation.)
- Because the items of selected applicant companies are decided around October 2026 after the competition is conducted, items requiring urgent mass production may not match the timing. We recommend applying with items that fit the company’s 2027 roadmap.
- Intellectual property (IP) protection and transfer provisions — the company holds priority negotiation rights for the transfer of intellectual property rights or the establishment of exclusive license rights for works that win through its own item competition, from the date the award-winning works are announced.
