The Daegu International Design Award (DIDA) is a prestigious design competition hosted by the Daegu Metropolitan City
and organized by the Daegu Gyeongbuk Design Industry Association.
Continuously held since its first opening in 1982, this exhibition has established itself as a gateway for discovering emerging designers, and in 2026 it marks its 41st edition, firmly consolidating its standing on the basis of a long history and tradition. The primary purpose of this competition is to discover outstanding designers and promote creative design development, thereby strengthening industrial competitiveness and further contributing to the revitalization of the regional economy. In addition, we aim to contribute to the creation of a sustainable design ecosystem by broadening the base of the design industry and cultivating a design mindset.
Screening is conducted fairly and professionally by a panel of judges composed of renowned designers and academic experts actively working at home and abroad. The entry categories are subdivided into visual design, industrial crafts, product and environmental design, service design, and specially designated topics, through which we embrace diverse creative activities and continuously expand the scope of entries.
The Daegu International Design Award will continue to discover promising emerging designers and strive relentlessly to contribute to the advancement and competitiveness of the design industry. We ask for your keen interest and active participation.
Thank you.
