Terms of Service
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms govern the rights, obligations and responsibilities between the Daegu International Design Award (hereinafter the “Award”) and users in connection with the use of the entry website (hereinafter the “Site”) operated by the Award.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- “Site” means the website operated by the Award to provide services such as competition information, entry submission, screening result inquiry and certificate issuance.
- “User” means a member or non-member who accesses the Site and uses the service under these Terms.
- “Member” means a person who provides personal information to register with the Site and, upon administrator approval, uses the service.
- “Entry” means the design work and related materials submitted by a member to the competition.
Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of the Terms)
These Terms take effect by being posted on the Site. The Award may amend these Terms within the scope that does not violate applicable laws, and will announce the effective date and details of any amendment on the Site.
Article 4 (Membership Registration)
Membership is established when a user agrees to these Terms, applies for registration, and the Award (administrator) approves the application. The Award may refuse approval or subsequently terminate the agreement in the following cases.
- Where another person’s identity is stolen or false information is entered
- Where the application is made for the purpose of harming public order or morals
- Where the applicant fails to meet the application requirements set by the Award
Article 5 (Management of Member Information)
Members must promptly update any changes to the information provided at registration, and are responsible for managing their own ID and password. A member must immediately notify the Award upon becoming aware of any unauthorized use of the account.
Article 6 (Provision of Service)
The Award provides members with the following services.
- Competition information and online entry submission
- Inquiry into entry records, screening progress and award results
- Issuance of certificates such as entry confirmations and award certificates
- Other services determined by the Award
Article 7 (Obligations and Prohibited Acts of Members)
Members must not engage in the following acts.
- Stealing another person’s information or registering false facts
- Submitting entries that infringe the intellectual property rights, including copyrights, of others
- Interfering with the operation of the Site or using information improperly
- Acts that violate laws or public morals
Article 8 (Rights and Copyright of Entries)
In principle, the copyright of an entry belongs to the applicant. However, the Award may use entries within the scope necessary for operating the competition, such as screening, exhibition, promotion, and production of award catalogs and archives; details follow the competition guidelines of each round. The applicant warrants that the entry does not infringe the rights of others and is responsible for any disputes arising therefrom. 【Confirm ownership and scope of use of award-winning works, linked to round guidelines】
Article 9 (Suspension of Service)
The Award may temporarily suspend the service for unavoidable reasons such as system maintenance, equipment replacement or force majeure, and will give notice before or after such suspension.
Article 10 (Withdrawal and Loss of Membership)
Members may request withdrawal at any time, and the Award will process it in accordance with applicable laws and the Privacy Policy. If a member violates these Terms, the Award may restrict use or revoke membership after prior notice.
Article 11 (Disclaimer)
The Award is not responsible for service interruptions caused by force majeure or by reasons attributable to the user, nor for the reliability or accuracy of information posted by members.
Article 12 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and any dispute arising in connection with the use of the service shall be subject to the competent court in accordance with the Civil Procedure Act.
